Tamborine Mountain
is both a volcanic remnant and a number of small
villages. Located 75 kms south of Brisbane, the name
derives from an Aboriginal
word for the district which is famed for its
spectacular coastal views, rainforests, waterfalls
and many macadamia, avocado & kiwifruit farms.
The three main villages are Mount Tamborine, North
Tamborine & Eagle Heights each with countless
restaurants, cafés, galleries, craft shops etc.
Tamborine NP covers an area of 1 160 ha and is made
up of a dozen reserves, lookouts, gorges, rainforests
and many bird species.
